Hello everyone! As chilly winds usher in the holiday season, many of us find ourselves sipping on warm cups of tea. But while you’re enjoying this cozy time of year, Black Friday is just around the corner, and with it, the frenzy of deals and discounts. As a fellow freelancer, I want to have a candid chat about the pressures and compulsions surrounding this shopping bonanza.

The Black Friday Dilemma: Every year, countless people feel rushed into making purchases just because of the allure of a special offer. This sense of urgency can often lead to unnecessary spending, so I want to remind you to pause and reflect before committing to any purchases, even those I offer.

Ask Yourself the Important Questions: As someone with ADHD, I understand the impulsivity battle, which is why I encourage you to ask yourself a few key questions to avoid buying things just because they seem cheap or urgent:

  1. Can You Afford It? Evaluate your financial position honestly. If a purchase might strain your budget, it might be best to wait. Remember, sales come around every year.
  2. What’s the Return on Investment? Consider not only the financial return but also the time and stress a purchase might save you. For example, investing in tools that save you several hours a week to focus on client work can be more valuable than you might initially realise.
  3. Are There Alternatives? Research is your friend. Sometimes, cheaper or even free options are available that serve your purpose just as well. Not everything on offer needs to be bought immediately.
  4. How Long Will You Use It? Reflect on your usage habits. Do you stick with tools long-term, or are you often switching between new options? This is especially relevant for lifetime or long-term subscriptions.
  5. Compatibility and Fit: Especially with tools and software, ensure any new purchase integrates well with your existing setup. The last thing you want is to introduce complexity into your workflow.

My Own Black Friday Offer: I’m excited to share that I’m bundling all my resources, courses, and templates from the Business Lounge into a single package. Although it won’t include membership benefits or summits, everything else will be in there. The total value with pricing is around £445, but I’m offering it for only £99.This offer runs from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, and it’s designed to grow in value over time as I add more content. It’s priced to ensure that it’s an investment you’ll actually utilise. Should you choose to purchase, make sure it fits within your budget and stands to offer you a tangible benefit.

I hope these considerations provide you with a lens to view the various Black Friday deals out there. My aim is for you to invest in what truly enhances your life and work, without feeling pressured by markdowns. As always, I’m here to hear your thoughts and offer any additional suggestions or resources you might find helpful.

Wishing you all a successful and strategic Black Friday, filled with only the purchases that serve you well. Have a wonderful freelance week ahead!
