I’m taking a short break from the podcast this August, but before I do, I’d love your feedback. In this post, I share why I’m pressing pause, what’s changing behind the scenes and how you can help shape the future of the podcast.

As July comes to an end, I’m pressing pause on the podcast for a few weeks. Don’t worry, I’m not disappearing. I’ll be back in September.
This August feels like the right time to take a break and spend some quality time with my son before he starts secondary school. It’s a big milestone for both of us, and I want to make the most of this chapter before the next one begins.
While I’m away, I’ll also be thinking about the future of the podcast, and I’d really love your input.
Why I’m taking a break
Running a podcast is something I genuinely love, but like any part of running a freelance business, it takes time behind the scenes. August feels like the perfect opportunity to step away for a few weeks, recharge and enjoy some family time before the school routine changes.
Sometimes taking a proper break gives us the space to come back with fresh ideas and renewed energy.
Things are changing behind the scenes
One of the biggest changes is that I’ll now be editing the podcast myself.
Up until now, I’ve had fantastic support from Alicia and Sarah at The Admin Den and I’m incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done. Unfortunately, following changes to my Access to Work funding, I can no longer continue that arrangement.
Alicia Cornell is a Virtual Assistant and Business Support specialist based in Berkshire with over 14 years’ experience helping businesses create systems that genuinely work for the people using them. She founded The Admin Den to support mothers running small businesses because she’s one herself and understands first-hand the unique challenges that come with balancing business and family life.
Alongside hands-on virtual assistant support, The Admin Den team offers email marketing, social media content, CRM integrations, automations, training sessions and specialist business support, giving clients an extra expert pair of hands so they can spend less time on admin and more time doing the work they love.
They’ve been brilliant to work with, and I can’t thank Alicia and Sarah enough for all the care, professionalism and support they’ve brought to the podcast.
Rethinking the podcast
Rather than seeing this as a setback, I’m choosing to see it as an opportunity to think about what’s next.
Over August, I’ll be exploring a few different ideas.
For example:
- Should the podcast include video episodes?
- Would you rather have fewer episodes if they included video?
- Should I continue publishing weekly, or would fortnightly or monthly work just as well?
There are lots of possibilities, and before I make any decisions, I’d love to know what would be most valuable for you.
Your feedback really matters
One of the things I love most about this community is that it’s a conversation, not just me talking into a microphone. So if there’s something you’d like to hear more of, a guest you’d love me to invite onto the podcast or a topic you’d like me to cover, please let me know.
Your feedback genuinely helps shape what comes next.
See you in September
I’ll be taking August to spend time with my family, recharge and think about the future of the podcast.
Then I’ll be back in September with fresh ideas and, hopefully, a format that works even better for everyone.
In the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts. You can email me, send me a message on Instagram, or join the conversation in the Discord or Facebook community.
Thank you so much for listening, supporting the podcast and being part of this wonderful freelance community. I really do appreciate every download, message and conversation.
Have a fantastic August, and I’ll see you in September.
